Dr. Gray - Chiropractor

Hello, my name is Dr. Kevin Gray and I want to tell you why I became a chiropractor.

When I was a freshman at the University of Illinois in the Pre-Med program, my mother's health began to deteriorate badly. She had experienced health problems since she was

25 years old because at that time, she received 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 80% of her body. During my freshman year, her breathing problems worsened to the extent that she couldn't walk 15 feet without having to stop to catch her breath. My Mom's MDs had done a remarkable job keeping my mother alive when she was burnt and helping her with all health problems since then. Now however, Mom's body was not responding to their care. Things finally came to a turning point when my Dad won a cruise and my Mom was afraid that she wouldn't be able to go because of her health.

By chance, my Mom met a chiropractor at a social event and they talked. No one in my family had ever heard of chiropractic health care or knew anything about what it involved. This chiropractor explained what chiropractic health care was all about and how it might be able to help her. My Mom decided to give it a try. She had to drive close to 80 miles round trip three times a week for a month but it was worth it because it worked. The results my Mom received were amazing to me. She was not only able to go on the cruise but her overall health

greatly improved.

When Mom got back from the cruise, she resumed her corrective chiropractic care which took the next 6 months and went on to do a wellness care program of monthly visits to help keep her renewed health.  I want you to know, chiropractic care did not give my Mom new lung tissue; my Mother's lungs were permanently scarred when she was burnt. What chiropractic care was able to do for not only for my Mom but for others, was to help her body function the best it could with the capacity it had.

Well, as you can imagine, this event changed my life. When I started college at the University of Illinois, I had planned on getting a medical degree and like I said, I was enrolled in the Pre-Med program.  However, the more I thought about what chiropractic care had done for my Mom, the more I thought that is what I wanted to be able to do for my patients. I ended up deciding to apply to Chiropractic College and was accepted early to the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

In 1980, I graduated Summa Cum Laude and decided to set up my practice in Mahomet, Illinois. I had discovered Mahomet while I was attending the University of Illinois. Mahomet offered me the small hometown feeling that I was looking for as well as being close to the University of Illinois which I am a huge fan of. I am so happy that I decided to become Mahomet's first Chiropractor.

Pat - Chiropractic Assistant

My name is Pat and I am Dr. Gray’s wife. We were married in 1981 and I moved to Mahomet. I am an RN and worked at the Carle Hospital until we had children. I stayed home with the children for several years and then started to work at the Gray Chiropractic Clinic in 1997. At the Gray Clinic, I assist with patient exams, physical therapies, spinal scans, and spinal X-rays.

Dr. Gray and I have 2 grown children. Our son Brandon was born in 1985 and graduated from the Mahomet School System and the University of Illinois. He then attended the University of Illinois School of Dentistry in Chicago. In 2012, he joined Dr. Greg Randolph's Dental practice in Bloomington, IL. Our daughter Brittany was born in 1987 and also graduated from the Mahomet School System and the University of Illinois with her degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, she acquired a position in the Monticello School System teaching 3rd grade.

I enjoy spending time with my children and husband, seeing and talking with my sisters and friends, Bible study, Church, and traveling with “Doc”. I am very blessed!
